Have you ever had to explain to someone that their attentions are appreciated but you don't think you want things to go where they want them to.

You wanna let someone down easy even if you're kinda flattered. Okay. [Tch he is not answering the question of course not.] Best thing to do is to be really, really blunt about how you feel and what your expectations are. Like, you don't have to be a dick about it, just leave no room for misinterpretation. State it firmly.

It's your life. Sure, they might think you're making the wrong choice, and they feel bad for your ex, and I'm not in any position to make a judgement call on who's right or wrong. Because you do what you think is right for you. So if you want a rebound after Maine, cool; if not, also cool.
